Unfortunately, the items you mentioned in your review are non-warrantable items. A list of these items can be found in the documents your family signed during their homeowner orientation with our team. Every new home will require homeowner maintenance to preserve your home's beauty and functionality. If your family has any other items they'd like addressed by our construction team within their warranty period, we invite them to submit a claim to the online portal. Hi Mildred, thank you for choosing LGI Homes for your first home purchase!
We will most likely start fixing these issues ourselves spending more money out of pocket, with competent subs that deliver an average level of quality. We would recommend that anyone not walk, but run away from Crescent Homes and not look back. I am a realtor, and Crescent Homes almost always does a good job regarding construction. Do NOT use this law firm for a closing. Crescent needs to find a new one to improve customer service.
Schumacher Homescomplaints
He also threatened to cancel my contract because he didn't like that I said that I was frustrated whenever he lied to me. LGI homes are pretty basic, but they come with some great upgrades. If you are buying in California, you get solar included! The homes are very well insulated and come with a great HVAC system as well. My friend bought a house from LGI Homes and referred me to them.

Timberlake Cabinetry is who they use which delivers subpar product and crappy installation. They refused to replace anything and put all of the responsibility on the homeowner even though the homeowner can't obtain the same product because they are a distributor to home builders. The tiles are also not laid evenly and the grout has pits and uneven throughout the entire house.
Best company I have ever worked for, hands down.
We purchased the Schumacher home three years ago. At that time the previous owners had lived in it for eight years. Today we started the bathroom remodel. When we pulled off the shower tiles, we found that they were placed on drywall. We've dealt with mildew for some time now and suspect more damage as we continue to pull off the tiles. Clearly this was not the proper way of installing a tiled shower.
I asked them if they could fix that and the rep who was showing us around said they could. But there's a little paragraph on the sign-in paperwork that says if I have any issues that need to be addressed, I need to write them out in a couple of sentences. I really wanted a new construction house and LGI Homes had some good options. So, that was another influence on my decision to go with LGI. I looked at some other builders as well, but I did my background research.
PROJECTS
I still had scratched cabinets but I'm happy they came out a week after I closed, fixing what needed to be fixed. They did everything in that one week. The bedrooms had carpet and I don't like carpet. That was another thing that Tommy did. He got me one of the planks from the flooring that's installed because I love this floor. I wanted to match it as close as I could get it for the bedroom.

But when I moved into the house, it wasn't ready because LGI waits until the day of closing to come in and do any kind of punch list or repairs. I had the house inspected and they couldn't check the air conditioning because of the temperature that day. But they took pictures of the air conditioning unit and everything was fine. After I got moved in and the air conditioner didn't work, they went up there and it was all torn apart. Somebody knew it wasn't working and let me move into the house with it not working. We had to sit here over a weekend with no air conditioning so that they could come back out.
LGI used good materials like hardy plank on the outside of the house. They went ahead and did the very first steel underneath the cross base. I felt like the house was of good quality.
I purchased my new home with the help of a private real estate broker. The private real estate broker worked with D.R. Horton to ensure that my new home was constructed accurately. The broker visited the home site periodically during the build and was able to correct any problems with the house before the house was completed. I also hired a well respected home inspector to inspect the house thoroughly before closing. All of the issues that were found by the real estate broker and the home inspector were corrected prior to closing.
Brett Whitehead, in my opinion, has been very nonchalant and has not shown any concern for my satisfaction or even to get what I paid for. I have now spent $7400 and I'm still not in my new home. My original mobile home was flooded in 2016 and it took me since then to save up the money for a new home, which I don't know when I'll move in. I have lived in my shed for 5 years, I told this to them when I purchased it, it obviously meant nothing.
See if you never visited construction and talked with Field Manager. And even now, almost 2 months after it became mine, he stops in to see how thinks are going and answer any more questions. Even now I have one wall switch I have not found what it controls. All in all a great decision to buy a home at Oakfield - Laurel Glen. Centex Homes - The builder will work with your needs.
At the time of signing, we had concerns regarding the drainage of the lot that... LGI is one of the better choices and better range of prices that we wanted for the square footage. We decided what we like and the rep explained the process. I always felt like buying a house would be complicated and lots of people told me it's stressful and arduous but we experienced the exact opposite. We decided to go with the preferred loan people with LGI and I felt like that really helped the process because they worked well together already.
